Brent grew up in a Christian home attending the “Millvale United Baptist Church”. Brent comes from a musical family and started singing with his brothers and cousin at the early age of five years old.
During the summers of 1995 and 1996, God provided an opportunity for Brent to attend the “Steve Hurst School of Music Ministry” at the Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. This school takes the gift God has given you and teaches vocalists and musicians to reach their highest potential. When Brent returned, he started “Cornerstone Ministries” with his family.
During the past twenty years, Cornerstone has ministered at 1600 plus events, appearing in approx. 400 churches and venues, ministering both in Canada and the United States. They have been involved with the Nascar Racing Series with MRO (Motor Racing Outreach), the Bowery homeless shelter in New York City, mission trips to Brazil and El Salvador, and have worked at several youth and family camps doing music and children’s ministry. Charlene has also written several DVBS (Daily Vacation Bible School) programs in which Cornerstone has presented in several churches over the years.
Cornerstone has produced (4) recording projects (three group recording projects and one solo project from Brent). Charlene also published her first novel “A Paper Bag For Anna”. In May of 2015, Charlene graduated from Acadia Divinity College with a degree in “Bachelor of Theology”.
Although ministry outreach is important “Cornerstone Ministries” feel that ministering in their own church “Hantsport Baptist Church” is the first priority. Ministry within their home church and outreach in other churches has provided a good balance of commitment to their home church and the call God has placed on “Cornerstone” to do outreach in other areas.
This family group feels very blessed and thankful for the opportunities God has given them to minister.
